The beginning of 2019 at Tanah Lot

In the beginning of 2019, Tanah Lot is still a favorite tourist destination for foreign and domestic tourists. From monitoring, in the morning the tourist area was filled with visitors who were dominated by domestic visitors with groups that used to use buses. Moving on at 11.00 a.m., two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles began to appear creeping into the parking area and are expected to continue until the afternoon.

Revisiting the number of tourist visits in 2018 did decrease by 4.63% compared to 2017. The number of visits in 2017 was 3,497,825 and in 2018 reached 3,335,822 visitors with a percentage of 55% of foreign tourists and 45% of domestic tourists. This number exceeded the target set at 3,011,013, but certainly less than the previous year. Based on the results of the analysis, several factors causing the decline in the number of visits in 2018 include, the impact of the great volcanic eruption in 2017 which still had an impact in early 2018, the earthquake in Java in the mid-April 2018 period, bomb terror in several regions in Indonesia in the month period May 2018, earthquake in Lombok in July 2018, Earthquake and Tsunami disaster in Palu in September 2018 period, Government policies regarding Chinese tourism agents, and the eruption of Mount Krakatau Children's disaster which impacted the tsunami on Banten Pandeglang recently. "Indeed, for the number of visits in 2018 this decreased by around 4.63% from last year. But we cannot deny these external factors. We have tried our best, but we cannot deny this factor, "said Operational Manager I Ketut Toya Adnyana on the open house on Tuesday (1/1).

Toya Adnyana said, even though there was a decrease in the number of visits due to several factors, it was still optimistic going forward. Even though 2019 is an unpredictable year of politics and natural factors "If natural factors are unpredictable, we can only strive to provide maximum service and intensify promotion both directly and through social media which is now a trend," he said.

In 2019, explained Toya Adnyana, managers prioritize regional infrastructure improvements and maintenance based on priority scale. "In 2019 we are more concerned with repairs and maintenance and it is possible for the annual event promotion program to continue," he said. "We cannot speak too detailed because we have not reported the annual review to the Management Agency level," he added.

During the new year, the area that relies on natural charm and a temple aura of holiness amid the sea is full of tourists, dominated by domestic tourists. According to Toya Adnyana, the beauty of sunset is still a favorite for tourists. There are also many tourists who are motivated from the Tanah Lot Temple located in the middle of the sea. Holy springs and thick snakes also attract tourists.
